Ribery dan Benzema Dituduh Terlibat Seks di Bawah Umur

Bintang Bayern Muenchen Franck Ribery dan bintang Real Madrid Karim Benzema akan dipanggil oleh pengadilan. Keduanya diduga terlibat prostitusi di bawah umur yang dilakukan dua tahun lalu.

Ribery dan Benzema sama-sama menolak dugaan itu. Keduanya menolak mengetahui usia Zahia Dehar, gadis yang terlibat, dan baru berusia 16 tahun. Penyelidikan yang dilakukan hakim mahkamah tinggi menitahkan kedua bintang Timnas Perancis itu bersumpah. Namun, kapan hal itu akan dilakukan, belum ditentukan tanggalnya.
Hakim Andre Dandot memutuskan terdapat kontradiksi dari yang direkomendasikan jaksa penuntut umum Paris. Keputusan para jaksa pada November 2011 menyatakan, kasus itu seharusnya ditutup karena kedua pemain itu tak mengetahui mereka terlibat jual beli seks di bawah umur.
Enam orang lainnya sudah dipanggil sebelum sidang, dan mereka menghadapi dugaan provokasi terhadap kedua pemain itu.
Di bawah hukum Perancis, jual beli seks dengan seseorang di bawah usia 18 tahun dapat dihukum tiga tahun penjara dan denda 45.000 euro (sekitar Rp 540 juta). Namun, para terdakwa harus sepenuhnya sadar tengah melakukan transaksi seks dengan seseorang di bawah umur.
Skandal Zahia muncul dua tahun lalu ketika berdasarkan hasil penyelidikannya, polisi mengklaim sebuah kelab malam di Paris memberikan akses kepada pekerja seks di bawah umur. Kasus itu berhubungan dengan penyelidikan pada 2008 dan 2009.
Pengacara Benzema, Sylvain Cormier, menyatakan bahwa kliennya tak bersalah dan akan datang memberikan keterangan sebelum persidangan.
Namun, kasus pelanggaran hukum itu tak membuat posisi keduanya di timnas "Ayam Jantan" terancam. Hal itu dijamin sendiri oleh Pelatih Didier Dechamps.
Ribery dan Benzema dijadwalkan turun gelanggang bersama Perancis yang beruji tanding melawan Uruguay, Rabu (15/8/2012) malam waktu setempat.

Ancelotti Optimis Ajak Mantan Anak Asuhnya Bergabung

Pelatih Paris Saint-Germain, Carlo Ancelotti, tetap ngotot akan mendatangkan striker AC Milan, Alexander Pato, pada musim panas mendatang. Musim ini, klub ibu kota Prancis tersebut ingin mendatangkan Pato ke Parc des Princes, namun Pato sendiri menolak bergabung bersama PSG.

Pada pertandingan derby Milano, mantan arsitek Chelsea, Carlo Ancelotti berkomentar mengenai kekalahan Milan dan peluang yang gagal dimaksimalkan oleh Pato.

"Pato dicemoohkan pada saat Derby karena timnya gagal memenangkan laga tersebut. Dia harus melakukan lebih baik dan memiliki segala kesempatan untuk melakukannya, merupakan bagian yang besar bagi Milan dan harus tetap dijaga," lanjut Don Carlo seperti dilansir Tribalfootball.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger confirms move for Sevilla centre-back Sebastien Squillaci

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed his interest in Sevilla centre-back Sebastien Squillaci but has dampened rumours of an impending move.

Squillaci, 30, was pulled out of the Champions League play-off, first leg defeat to Braga this week to prevent him being cup-tied. The Spanish side soon announced they had rejected an offer for the France World Cup 2010 star worth about £4.5 million.

Wenger revealed he had made a bid for the ex-Monaco defender and was studying other options.

He said: "He is one of the players we look at.

"With central defenders we are short number-wise, so we look at him, but we are far from being close to signing him."

Marseille president confirms Nice striker Loic Remy has heart problem after complications with medical

Marseille president Jean-Claude Dassier and club doctor Christophe Baudot have confirmed that the club have found a cardiac problem with Loic Remy.

The young striker was due to complete his move from Nice pending a medical, but the transfer ground to a shuddering halt earlier on Friday when the news broke that the press conference scheduled to announce his signing had been cancelled because of a hiccup in the tests on the player.

Rumours quickly spread that the France international had a cardiac defect, which was confirmed by the Ligue 1 champions on Friday afternoon.

“It's a mechanical problem,” club doctor Baudot explained via the club's official website. “On Monday, further investigations are programmed to be able to give clear answers to Loïc. He asked us to continue our investigations. He will not play until all doubts have been lifted.

“We’ve decided not to convene Loic Remy tomorrow [Saturday] because late last night a small problem occurred regarding his MRIs,” Dassier added. “The news this morning is reassuring, but we took this decision because what matters most is the health of player.”

It will therefore be next week that this issue is cleared up.

In recent years veteran players such as Lilian Thuram and Steve Savidan have been found to have heart defects, and both France internationals were forced to quit the game.

Lyon star Michel Bastos insists he has had no contact with Real Madrid

Lyon star Michel Bastos has ensured his club that he has received no contact from Real Madrid regarding a proposed transfer, but added that the Spanish giants are a ‘great club’.

Bastos, who represented Brazil during this summer’s World Cup in South Africa, was today the subject of speculation linking him with a move to the Bernabeu, with Royston Drenthe plus €12 million (£9.8m) exchanging hands.

However, L’Equipe reports that although Bastos is flattered by the interest, he has not been informed of any bids from Jose Mourinho’s side.

He stated: “People are saying things right and left, I try not to pay too much attention and it does not bother me, the only thing I want is to return to action soon.

“I do not want to know anything about this story until there is something official, and I have acknowledged it. Real Madrid would be a great club for me but they have not made any offer, and no one has called the club.”

However, Bastos made sure that he left the door open for the Spanish giants to potentially swoop for his services, adding: “I know that the leaders of Real Madrid have said that their signings are over, but you never know.

“If I leave today, tomorrow, or next year it will be because the club believes it is a good deal for them and for me. Otherwise, I will stay.”

Bordeaux priced out of Remy race

Bordeaux president Jean-Louis Triaud says his side will not be able to afford to buy striker Loic Remy after Nice turned down a €13.5 million offer from West Ham United.

Triaud, who is currently on the look-out for a replacement for Marouane Chamakh after the forward joined Arsenal, admits Les Girondins do not have the financial firepower to match the English Premier League club's bid.

He said: "They refused to accept €13.5 million from West Ham, I do not see how we could make a proposal that pleased them. I do not say it's too expensive, I do not know. In any case, it is not within our means."

South Africa Finalists embarrass the World Cup 2006 France

South Africa ended their Group A campaign on a high note with a battling win over France, as the hosts were eliminated from the World Cup on goal difference.

Carlos Alberto Parreira's side become the first host nation to fail to reach the second round of the tournament but they can hold their heads high after a performance full of spirit and endeavour.

Goals from Bongani Khumalo and Katlego Mphela gave Bafana Bafana hope of qualifying at the interval, but they ultimately ran out of steam as they chased the goals they needed to overhaul second-placed Mexico.

France, who had Yohann Gourcuff harshly dismissed before the break, did manage to pull a goal back through Florent Malouda, but Raymond Domenech's men never looked like rescuing what has been a shambolic World Cup.

Rumours of a rift in their squad developed into a fully-fledged row that saw Les Bleus striker Nicolas Anelkas sent home in disgrace on Saturday for arguing with Domenech - and the fall-out from that incident saw captain Patrice Evra dropped for this game.

There had also been reports that some French players would refuse to play in this match, and although a boycott did not materialise, Domenech's reign as manager ended with a defeat that left his side bottom of the group.

South Africa deservedly went ahead after 20 minutes when France goalkeeper Hugo Lloris completely missed Siphiwe Tshabalala's corner and Khumalo launched himself at the ball, turning it in off his shoulder.

France's farcical tournament took a further turn for the worse six minutes later when Gourcuff was given his marching orders for an aerial challenge on MacBeth Sibaya. Gourcuff did lead with his arm as he leapt to meet a corner but any contact looked accidental.

And the hosts added to France's misery when Les Bleus failed to clear Tshabalala's cross from the left and Tsepo Masilela turned the ball back across goal for Mphela to bundle it home at the back post despite the best efforts of Gael Clichy.

France did threaten sporadically but their best effort came almost inadvertently when Franck Ribery's hoisted free-kick sailed over a crowd of players and looked like it would bounce in until Moeneeb Josephs tipped over with a superb reaction save.

News that Uruguay had taken the lead in Rustenburg whipped the crowd at the Free State Stadium in Bloemfontein into a further frenzy and they almost had another goal to celebrate before half-time when Mphela had a rasping shot tipped round the post by Lloris.

But Bafana Bafana still needed to score two more goals themselves - or hope Mexico conceded the same number - to reach the last 16, and it was a quest that was ultimately beyond them.

They almost got a third goal at the start of the second half when Tshabalala slid Mphela clear, but he clipped the outside of the post with his first-time shot.

Mphela also saw a fierce shot pushed away by Lloris but South Africa were clearly tiring quickly and becoming increasingly vulnerable at the back.

France were able to exploit that when Ribery beat Tsepo Masilela to Bacary Sagna's through ball and squared for Florent Malouda to tap home.

South Africa continued to come forward but it was without their previous vigour and they did not create another clear-cut opening until Tshabalala was denied by Lloris in injury time.

Their elimination will bring disappointment to their fanatical supporters but at least they have had moments to savour in the tournament, unlike France, who depart after a hugely disappointing showing on and off the pitch.

Javier Hernandez, nine minutes to score against France

Two second-half goals gave Mexico their first ever victory over France to leave El Tri well-placed to make the last 16 and the 2006 runners-up on the verge of elimination.

Mexico were the brighter of the two throughout but were unable to take any of their chances until just after the hour, when substitute Javier Hernandez broke the offside trap and rounded keeper Hugo Lloris before slotting home.

Another Mexican substitute, the 37-year-old Cuauhtemoc Blanco, sealed the victory from the penalty spot after a third replacement, Pablo Barrera, had been felled in the box.

It leaves Mexico level at the top of Group A with Uruguay and a draw between those two sides in their final game in Rustenburg would send France out of the tournament.

Mexico and France met in the first ever World Cup finals match in Montevideo, Uruguay in 1930, with Les Bleus cruising to a 4-1 victory, but this keenly contested encounter was never likely to reproduce such a scoreline.

Both teams showed greater endeavour than in their drawn opening games, with France in particular looking more lively, but for long periods neither possessed the cutting edge to truly punish their opponents.

The French squad is reportedly in disarray, with suggestions of a training ground bust-up between coach Raymond Domenech and midfielder Florent Malouda, who was not selected for their uninspired 0-0 draw with Uruguay, and they have been criticised by former midfielder Zinedine Zidane.

However, Malouda was recalled in place of Yoann Gourcuff in a line-up that kept faith with a world class strike-force, spearheaded by Nicolas Anelka, that has failed to register an international goal since last November.

Malouda showed rare glimpses of the form he showed throughout last season for Chelsea, forcing Mexico keeper Oscar Perez to palm over early in the second half, having earlier begun a free-kick routine straight off the training ground that saw Frank Ribery flash a drive across goal.

This was the closest Ribery would come to affecting the game from his central playmaker role and, as against Uruguay, Anelka was largely anonymous and was replaced at half-time by Andre-Pierre Gignac, who also offered little in his 45 minutes on the pitch.

Mexico's attack is exciting but too often lightweight. Their forwards missed numerous chances in their opening 1-1 draw with hosts South Africa but all three players retained their place in the side - although Arsenal striker Carlos Vela was forced off with an injury on the half hour with only one skied shot to his name.

Another member of their attacking triumvirate, Tottenham's Giovani Dos Santos, produced another lively display to match the one he produced against South Africa and, but for Patrice Evra's presence, would have been able to get greater purchase on a shot that bobbled wide just before half-time.

Mexico's chief offensive weapon in the first half was left-back Oscar Salcido, who regularly found himself in advanced positions, but his execution could not match his intent.

He had two good shooting opportunities in the first half but from the first he shot wide of the far post from 25 yards, and then saw a close-range effort blocked by France keeper Lloris after William Gallas had inexplicably backed away from Salcido's run.

The opening of the second half had seen a clear dip in quality from what had been a decent first 45 minutes, but two positive Mexican substitutes - Hernandez and Blanco - altered that, with a third, Vela's replacement Barrera, also playing a part.

In the 64th minute, Marquez chipped a ball forward from midfield, Eric Abidal played the Manchester United-bound striker onside and with the French defence static and begging for offside, Hernandez was able to advance onwards, skip round Lloris and slot into the vacated goal.

France's response was meek at best but the Mexicans, by now full of confidence, continued to press and were rewarded when Barrera was tripped and Blanco charged in from outside the box to dispatch his penalty into the right-hand corner of the net.
